Dame Shirley Bassey has reportedly insisted that her record company pay her hotel bill.
The Daily Mail says that Bassey is planning to stay in an executive suite at The Ritz for two months, at a cost of £4,500 a night, while promoting her new album.
She has also arranged for her favourite possessions to be shipped over from her home in Monte Carlo.
"Dame Shirley expects only the best and always stays at The Ritz," a source said. "She asked her record company to book her favourite suite.
"They were happy to oblige - they are confident she will be able to claw back the money because they expect the album to be a huge hit.
"Shirley will be hopping between London and Monte Carlo and she has had her favourite rug, bedding, ornaments, her lounge cushion set and other personal items shipped over to make the suite 'more Shirley'."
A spokesman for Bassey declined to comment.
Bassey signed a new record deal in July. Her album The Performance will be released on November 9.
