Jude Law 'refusing to see new baby'

Jude Law is reportedly refusing to see his new baby until after a paternity test.

Law's ex-girlfriend Samantha Burke gave birth to Sophia on Thursday, but the News of the World claims that the actor, who is currently starring in a Broadway production of Hamlet, did not fly to Florida to see her.

"Jude is still very cautious about Sam and Sophia," a source said. "Until he is 100% certain that she is his daughter he is only communicating through lawyers.

"If he is the father he will meet his obligations to the child. He is hoping for an early chance to establish that he is genuinely her dad."

Law reportedly paid for Burke's birth and the antenatal care, but the insider explained: "It was an act of kindness rather than an admission that he was the dad."

Burke is currently negotiating a deal for pictures of Sophia, but Law's attorneys have asked her not to speak to the media until they have agreed a financial package.

Law already has three children with his ex-wife Sadie Frost.
