Furtado 'turned down $1m Playboy offer'

Nelly Furtado has revealed that she once turned down nearly £545,000 to pose naked for Playboy magazine.

The 'Maneater' singer, who lives in Canada with her husband and child, said that she didn't want to ruin her career early on by taking her clothes off.

She told The Mail On Sunday: "The magazine was even prepared to pay me $500,000 (£316,000) to pose with my clothes on. I didn't want Playboy on my resume at the age of 22. If they ask me when I'm 40 I'll probably say yes."

Furtado also revealed that her early success in the music industry overwhelmed her, resulting in a breakdown. She said: "It was too much too soon. After two years of intense touring and partying I’d spend hours alone in my LA home, just staring at the floor."

Furtado also said that she is working with top music producer Timbaland again.
