The actress, best known appearing in a series of Whitesnake music videos during the 1980s, was taken into custody on Saturday afternoon for suspicion of driving under the influence after being given a field sobriety test, E! reports.
It is understood that the former Surreal Life and Celebrity Rehab star was arrested near John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, CA.
The 48-year-old is alleged to have "made contact with officers after operating a vehicle while under the influence", according to a Newport Beach Police Department spokesperson.
In 2006, Kitaen was arrested on counts of possessing cocaine after law enforcement officials discovered 15 grams of the drug in her San Juan Capistrano apartment.
