Andre: 'I didn't realise Dwight hated me'

Peter Andre has hit back at Dwight Yorke's recent attack on him, saying that he understands the footballer must find it difficult that he has been a "real father" to stepson Harvey.

Yorke, who had Harvey with Andre's ex Katie Price years ago, was reported as saying that he wanted to "throttle" Andre for trying to adopt his son.

A friend of Andre apparently told The Sun that the pop singer said: "I'm sorry he hates me. I have been that boy's dad for more than three years. And he knows it."

He reportedly added: "I do not hate Dwight and I didn't realise he felt that way about me. But I have been a real father to Harvey and he calls me daddy. I guess that sticks in Dwight's throat."

Price recently defended Andre, saying that he should be regarded as Harvey's real father.
