Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig had to halt a Broadway stage performance to speak to an audience member whose mobile phone kept ringing.

The pair, who apparently turned down film roles to star in crime drama A Steady Rain together, stayed in character as they addressed the offender.

In a video shown on TMZ, the mobile phone can be heard ringing in the middle of a tense scene. Jackman first points to the audience member and, still in character, says: "You wanna get that? Grab it, I don't care."

A few second later, when the phone starts to ring again, the award-winning actor says: "Come on, just turn it off unless you got a better story, you want to get up and tell your story?"

After the crowd applauds, the phone continues to ring and Craig says: "Can you get that, whoever it is can you just get it? We can wait, just get the phone."

This play is Craig's first Broadway appearance, while Jackman has previously appeared in The Boy From Oz.
