DJ AM death ruled as accidental overdose

The New York City medical examiner's office has ruled that the death of DJ AM was caused by an accidental drug overdose, reports The AP.

The 36-year-old, real name Adam Goldstein, was found dead in his apartment in the SoHo neighbourhood on August 28.

A friend had alerted the police that he had not been in contact for several days.

According to the toxicology report, he had cocaine, OxyContin, Benadryl and another drug used to cut cocaine in his system.

The cause of death has been ruled as acute intoxication.

Goldstein was buried in a private memorial at the Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary on September 2. A larger memorial was held at the Hollywood Palladium on September 3.
