The organisers of the Brit Awards are hoping that U2 frontman Bono and Boomtown Rat Bob Geldof might perform a duet as a finale.
Next year's awards will be the 25th annual Brits ceremony and those behind the event think that a Bono-Geldof collaboration would make a fitting showstopper. The pair have worked together on both the 1984 and 2004 Band Aid projects.
53-year-old Geldof is being presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award and U2 have already agreed to perform at the show hosted by Chris Evans in February.
An insider told the Mirror: "It would be a magical end to the Brits.
"Both acts will be performing on the night so it's just a matter of persuading them to do something together.
"They may have been around for decades but they can still teach the younger stars a thing or two about how to raise the roof."
