Anna Friel has said that she would never consider trying to copy Audrey Hepburn in her stage performance in Breakfast At Tiffany's.

Hepburn played Holly Golightly in Blake Edwards's 1961 movie adaptation of Truman Captoe's 1958 novella, with Friel taking on the role at the Haymarket Theatre Royal until January 10.

Friel told London Lite: "There's no-one could do it like Hepburn. She played that role so perfectly.

"No-one can copy that and I would never even think about doing such a thing."

She added of Golightly: "She's the most courageous woman I've ever seen written."

Friel has drawn attention for her blonde wig and nude scenes in her performances.
