Dennis Hopper 'rushed to hospital'

Dennis Hopper has been admitted to hospital in New York after complaining of stomach pain.

The actor's publicist Sheila Feren told The AP that Hopper had been transported to an undisclosed clinic after developing the flu-like symptoms.

An onlooker reportedly said that the 73-year-old star was attached to a number of tubes as he was driven to the hospital.

Hopper was in New York to support his Starz adaptation of 2004 movie Crash but has now been forced to cancel his appearances on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and the Today show.

Starz publicist Lindsay Gallagher told ABC News: "He feels terrible for cancelling, but I think it's for the best."
