Lily Allen 'wants to act'

Lily Allen may turn her back on music in favour of acting, it has been reported.

The popstar has recently been cast in a West End production of Neil LaBute's Reasons To Be Pretty.

According to Now, a source close to the star said: "In private, she's been going on about acting for well over a year. It's a big ambition."

This comes after the 24-year-old claimed she was quitting singing as a result of piracy.

She wrote on Twitter: "The days of me making money from recording music have been and gone as far as I'm concerned."

However, Allen removed her comment from the site a few hours later.

The magazine's source also claimed that the star is currently having a tough time.

"Lily's miserable - a far cry from a few weeks ago when she was the life and soul of the GQ Men Of The Year Awards.

"She came back from touring South America and told everyone she's sick of being famous. She took great umbrage at paparazzi trying to snap her at the airport.

"Things aren't going great with Sam [her boyfriend] - partly because she hasn't seen him much lately, but mostly because she's so low."
