Chris Evert, Greg Norman split

Golfer Greg Norman and his new wife Chris Evert have split 15 months after marrying in the Bahamas.

Norman and the former tennis champion caused controversy when they left their respective partners to be together in 2006. The golf pro later gave his ex-wife Laura Andrassy a $100 million (£63 million) divorce settlement.

A formal statement read: "The decision is a result of a great deal of consideration. The two have not indicated whether they intend to divorce."

Norman has two children with Andrassy, while Evert has three with ex-husband Andy Mill. Reports have claimed that tension between Evert's children and Norman contributed to the failure of their relationship.
