Speed actress Sandra Bullock has donated $1m to the American Red Cross to be used on relief work following the events in Asia on Boxing Day.
The actress' donation follows a similar act of goodwill in the wake of the events of 9/11 in the United States when she donated another $1m, reports Zap2it.
Marsha J. Evans, President and CEO of the American Red Cross said: "At this critical time, I am grateful to Sandra Bullock, for once again demonstrating her leadership, compassion and belief in our global humanitarian mission. Sandra continues to enable our lifesaving work and is a model for personal generosity."
Bullock will next be seen in Miss Congeniality 2 and Crash, both to be released this summer.
