Jon Gosselin: 'Kate's hiding money'

WENN

Jon Gosselin has denied claims from his estranged wife Kate that he withdrew $230,000 (£144,000) from their joint bank account.

The mother-of-eight appeared on The Today Show earlier and said that the 32-year-old had left her with only $1,000 (£625), while neither party is allowed to touch the account without the other's consent.

Jon told The Insider that Kate's allegations are "a total fabrication" and that he has "the paper trail to prove it".

He said: "I've never taken any money out because over ten years, Kate handled all the banking. Over the past four years of doing the show, we accrued $2.25m (£1.4m).

"She says in the past week I took $230,000 (£144,000). I have withdrawn roughly $177,000 (£110,000) over the course of a year, which is less than 10% of what we made. That's like my paycheck."

He added: "I believe she's incriminating herself and not thinking clearly. She's wanting me to look bad. She's hiding money. We have 11 bank accounts. That was just our joint account. She had a bestselling book. Where's that million dollars?"

Jon earlier said that he wanted to reconcile with Kate as a parent.
