Stefani 'celebrates 40th birthday'

Gwen Stefani apparently celebrated her birthday at the weekend with a family dinner in exclusive West Hollywood Italian restaurant Cecconi's.

The 'Hollerback Girl' singer, who turned 40 on October 3, dined in a private room with friends including Kate Beckinsale, as well as husband Gavin Rossdale and their two sons, Kingston, 3, and 13-month-old Zuma.

An onlooker told People: "The Butterfly Room was specially decorated for Gwen's celebration with happy birthday balloons and roses. Gwen looked amazing and so much younger than 40."

They continued: "She was in a great mood and seemed very excited to celebrate her birthday with her husband, children and friends. Gwen and Kate seem very close and the girls shared a long chat and many laughs."

The source added: "Gavin and a nanny took care of the boys so Gwen could just relax and enjoy her celebration."

Stefani and Rossdale had reportedly enjoyed a romantic meal without the children the night before.
