Matt Lucas ex commits suicide

Matt Lucas's former civil partner Kevin McGee has committed suicide at his home in Edinburgh.

The 32-year-old, who married Lucas in December 2006, was found hanged at his flat in Bruntsfield by police at 8am yesterday.

Friends reportedly alerted the authorities after McGee posted a message on his Facebook reading: "Kevin McGee thinks death is much better than life."

Little Britain actor Lucas has been described as "utterly destroyed" by the news, reports The Sun.

"Matt was floored when he heard the news," a source said. "He always loved Kevin despite their differences and their difficult marriage."

The pair separated in June 2008 and their divorce was finalised in December, Lucas citing McGee's "unreasonable behaviour".
