Roman Polanski has received a star on the Walk of Fame in Poland.

The Rosemary's Baby director was recently taken into custody in Switzerland, stemming from a 1978 US warrant that was issued after he pleaded guilty to unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl. He later relocated to France and has been unable to return to the United States since the incident.

The filmmaker was honoured with a plaque during a ceremony over the weekend in Warsaw, Contactmusic reports.

The sidewalk acknowledgment, which is located near film icons including Marilyn Monroe, is decorated with a saying from Polanski that reads: "Nothing is too shocking to me".

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger reportedly denied the 76-year-old a pardon should he ever return to the state.
