Nutini hits out at Twitter celebrities

Paolo Nutini has hit out at celebrities who are regular users of the Twitter social networking service.

The singer-songwriter told The Sun that he is too busy with his work to be an obsessive poster on the site.

Nutini said: "I don't really get it. I do have an account but it's not always me updating it. Why would I like to be just writing random sentences all say?

"I don't think, 'Oooh I am going to tell everyone I know that I just woke up'. I don't care if the fans know that because I'd rather they know I'm concentrating on my music. Plus I don't have the time."

Stars including Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher and Stephen Fry are famed users of Twitter.

Fellow popstar Lily Allen was a prolific poster on her own page before announcing her retirement from the internet as a "neo-Luddite" last month.
