Yauch feeling 'healthy, strong, hopeful'

Adam 'MCA' Yauch has said that he is feeling healthy, strong and hopeful after undergoing treatment for cancer of the preaortic gland and lymph node.

The Beastie Boys star wrote a message to the band's email list to update fans of his condition on his return from a trip to Dharamsala, India.

Yauch said: "I'm feeling healthy, strong and hopeful that I've beaten this thing, but of course time will tell.

"I'm taking Tibetan medicine and at the recommendation of the Tibetan doctors I've been eating a vegan/organic diet."

He added: "Thanks again for all of the well wishes and prayers, and the letters were great too, brought a smile to my face reading them."

Earlier this year, Yauch gave fans an update of his treatment following surgery and prior to a course of radiotherapy.
