Fern Britton 'to write novel about fame'

Fern Britton has signed a contract to write a novel about fame and jealousy.

The presenter, who quit This Morning in July after ten years, secured a two-book deal with publisher Harper Collins.

The first novel is expected to be published by Mother's Day 2011 and will reportedly focus on rivalry in the TV world.

"I am so excited to be working with Harper Collins on my novel. This story comes from my 30 years experience in television," Now quotes her as saying.

"Are the characters based on people I have worked with - have any of the storylines actually happened? Or have I made it all up? Readers will have to decide."
