Cage 'owes $6.3m in unpaid taxes'

Nicolas Cage owes $6.3 million (£3,941,663) in unpaid taxes, reports say.

People claims that the US government has placed a tax lien on the actor's real estate holdings because of $6m (£3,753,964) in unpaid taxes dating back to 2007.

Cage also owes the Internal Revenue Service a further $300,000 (£187,698) in taxes from 2002 to 2004.

The star has reportedly started to sell his properties to help with the bills. He has already sold his castle in Germany and his English mansion, and has placed his homes in California, Las Vegas and New Orleans on the market.

Cage is also facing a lawsuit filed by the East West Bank for failing to repay a $2m (£1,251,321) loan.

His representatives have not yet commented.
