Gallagher: 'I gave up drugs for my kids'

Liam Gallagher has revealed that he gave up drugs for the sake of his children.

The former Oasis frontman told the blog Stop Crying Your Heart Out that he quit his wild ways in 2008 when he realised that it was affecting his family life.

He said: "I've knocked all that on the head since last November. You must remember that I've caned it for 20 years and not just on the sauce but with all sorts. But I've had a great time and now I'm having a break.

"It doesn't work with kids, man. You wake up the next day after a session and you're looking for bits of your kids' homework and football boots. You're all over the place - it's rubbish."

Gallagher has three children - Molly, 11, with Lisa Moorish, Lennon, 10, with Patsy Kensit and 8-year-old Gene with Nicole Appleton.
