Kerry Katona won't face 'assault' charge

Kerry Katona will not face police charges over accusations that she assaulted her accountant, it has been announced.

The troubled reality star was arrested over the alleged incident on August 26.

It was later claimed that the 29-year-old was being investigated over allegations of assault, criminal damage and a public order offence which were said to have been carried out when she visited her financial adviser David McHugh at his office in Hawthorne Business Park, Warrington.

A spokeswoman for Cheshire Police said today: "Following an investigation by Cheshire Constabulary and advice from the Crown Prosecution Service in relation to an allegation of assault that occurred in Warrington on 26 August, no further action will be taken in respect of the 29-year-old female who was arrested in relation to the incident."

Katona's arrest came days after she received an official police caution for possessing cocaine.
