Penelope Cruz 'fuels engagement rumours'

Penelope Cruz has fuelled reports that she is engaged to wed actor Javier Bardem after being spotted wearing a large diamond ring in New York on Sunday.

The Vicky Cristina Barcelona actress has been dating Bardem since 2007 and the couple were recently forced to deny claims that Cruz is pregnant with their first child.

Rumours also surfaced last week that the stars had gotten engaged while on holiday.

Representatives for Cruz and Bardem have yet to respond to the speculation.
