Doherty 'in hospital after breathing problems'

Pete Doherty has cancelled his upcoming tour of Ireland after being hospitalised last night suffering breathing difficulties.

A statement from Doherty's agent confirmed that he is currently being treated by doctors and has called off all forthcoming tour dates, which were due to start tonight at Belfast's Mandela Hall.

It read: "Last night, Peter Doherty was admitted to Swindon Hospital with exhaustion and breathing difficulties. He is currently under observation by doctors."

The shows are currently being rescheduled. Ticket-holders are advised to check individual venues' websites for more information.
