Parker to release SATC-inspired perfume

Sarah Jessica Parker has described her new perfume as a "party in a bottle".

The fragrance - SJP NYC - was reportedly inspired by Sex and the City and the actress's character Carrie Bradshaw.

Parker told WWD: "A large part of the inspiration was what I now understand to be people's impressions of seeing Carrie Bradshaw walk down the street and what feelings that evokes for her and for them - a real sense of freedom and possibilities, a love for the city around her and, of course, fashion."

The perfume is due to arrive exclusively in Macy's stores in February in time for the build-up to the release of the second Sex and the City film in May.

The packaging has been designed to look like Carrie's over-stuffed closet.

Parker has released two previous fragrances - Lovely and Covet.
