Published Tuesday, Jan 11 2005, 13:14 GMT | By Daniel Saney
Simon Cowell has filmed a TV ad for anti-fur lobbyists PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).
In the advert Cowell reasonably pleads: "If you wouldn't wear your dog, please don't wear fur."
The ads will launch in America next week to coincide with the fourth series of his show American Idol on Fox.
Other past supporters of PETA include Pamela Anderson, Kim Basinger and Christy Turlington.
