Wyclef Jean 'planning memoirs'

Wyclef Jean is to document his Grammy-winning music career and philanthropic work in a new book.

The ex-Fugees rapper - who recently announced the release of a new EP - is collaborating with Rolling Stone writer Anthony Bozza on the memoir, Contactmusic reports.

The as-yet-untitled book is expected to reveal details of the 37-year-old's upbringing in Haiti, rise to musical stardom and later charity work in the poverty-stricken country.

The release date is yet to be confirmed.
