The outspoken cook, who passed away at the age of 65 last month, reportedly caused chaos when he was once asked to demonstrate his dishes at Linthwaite House Hotel in Cumbria.
Owner Mike Bevan told the Daily Express: "We had some mind-boggling situations. On the first day, he asked, 'Have you got any of my books?'. 'No,' I replied. 'Well I can't remember any of my f**king recipes,' he said.
"I had to go out and buy his books so he could do the recipes. He said he never kept his books and had never read them."
The TV star published debut release Floyd's Food in 1981 and went on to bring out more than 30 books in total throughout his career.
Gordon Ramsay, Jean-Christophe Novelli, Marco Pierre White and Jim Davidson were among those who paid tribute to Floyd following his death on September 14.
