Beatles producer Sir George Martin has been recovering at home after undergoing routine surgery in hospital.
Martin, who recorded with the Liverpool band throughout their career and is regarded by many as the 'fifth Beatle', underwent the operation earlier this week.
The star's manager Adam Sharp told the BBC that he spent a night in hospital but did not disclose further details concerning his condition.
The 83-year-old was inducted into the UK Music Hall Of Fame in 2006 by then-chancellor Gordon Brown.
