The comic took to the stage at Hollywood's Laugh Factory on Sunday in a bid to break the club record for the longest time on stage, previously set by Dane Cook in a 7-hour, 34-minute marathon last year.
However, Chappelle's attempt to surpass Cook faltered after five hours when he was disqualified by owner Jamie Masada for taking a bathroom break.

Chappelle previously recorded a time of six hours before Cook's triumph in 2008.
