Sheryl Gascoigne has claimed that people should read her new book before judging her.
Paul Gascoigne's ex-wife has opened up over her experiences with the former footballer in Stronger: My Life Surviving Gazza, which was released earlier this month.
In an interview with Live From Studio Five, the mother-of-three said that she has been accused of cashing in on the soccer star for "the past 19 years".
She continued: "Read the book, then judge me from reading the book. That's fine, you're entitled to your opinion. But sometimes I think I've kept quiet for too long and mud sticks, unfortunately.
"Read the book and if you still think I'm the worst mum in the world and I'm this gold digger who's living off his name, then so be it, but at least have all the facts first. Paul's done a few books now, this is my first book and this is my chance to finally put the truth out there."
Sheryl started dating Paul in 1990 and they went on to tie the knot in 1996. The couple divorced two years later.
