Simpson, Butler 'spotted on date'

Jessica Simpson and Gerard Butler have sparked rumours that they are romantically involved after being spotted out on an apparent date.

Simpson was seen with the Ugly Truth star at Soho House on Tuesday night, chaperoned by friends including hair stylist Ken Paves.

One onlooker told the New York Post: "They were at a table with friends, but Jessica and Gerard, who sat next to each other, seemed to only be interested in each other and chatted for hours."

They added: "They were laughing and flirting and eventually left together, along with Ken."

Gerard has been linked to actress Jennifer Aniston in the past, while Simpson recently split from sports star Tony Romo.
