Boy George: 'I had jail coming to me'

Boy George has revealed that he expected to go to jail at some point in his life.

The Culture Club frontman was sent to prison earlier this year after being convicted of falsely imprisoning a male escort. He served four months of his 15-month sentence.

Speaking on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross, the singer said: "I had it coming, it wasn't that big a surprise."

He added that there was a positive side to his sentence, explaining: "It was four months to be with myself.

"I'm the happiest I've ever been."

George recently claimed that he was inspired to write songs when he was in prison.
