Reeves, Sorrell win Specsavers Awards

Comedian Vic Reeves and Nancy Sorrell were named the 'Sexiest Glasses Wearers' at last night's Specsavers Celebrity Spectacle Wearers of the Year Awards.

The Royle Family actress Liz Smith received the 'Services To Specs' title.

"When I first started to wear glasses I felt a foot taller," said Reeves. "I don't wear glasses to be funny, I think they make me look like a boffin, they give me the cool scientist look. Look at Elvis Costello, he carries it off. You can be a cool boffin."

Sorrell added: "Vic loves me in mine, he says I look 100% sexy."

The event, which was hosted by Ben Shephard and Jenni Falconer, took place at London's Victoria and Albert Museum. Gok Wan, Jessica Taylor and model Erin O'Connor were among the celebrity guests.
