Schofield: 'Katona needed protection'

Katona has claimed that she was "nationally embarrassed" following the broadcast, while Schofield insisted that the show was fair.
He told Metro: "That was sad more than anything. I've known her for a long time. I was concerned she should have had people around her protecting her from going on.
"She shouldn't have been brought on that day. We had no idea that maybe issues should have been addressed before she was brought in live."
He added: "If we had done, we'd have made sure she was okay first. Kerry's recollection of the morning is different to everyone else's."
Schofield reportedly banned Katona from appearing on This Morning again after the incident.
