Vic Reeves: 'I didn't call Ross a bully'

Vic Reeves has denied branding Jonathan Ross a "bully" in the aftermath of the Manuelgate scandal.

A report in the Daily Mail in February suggested that the comedian had blasted Ross for his treatment of Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs.

However, in a new interview, Reeves has insisted that he was misquoted after defending the chatshow host against criticism he was receiving in the newspaper.

He told The Edinburgh Journal: "I said it's a big fuss over nothing and you lot should stop being bullies, then they printed Jonathan Ross should stop being a bully.

"That's the Daily Mail for you, they'll twist whatever you say and try and start a fight. They are terrible, awful gossip-mongers and troublemakers."

Ross was suspended from the BBC for three months last year after leaving lewd voicemails on Sachs's answerphone during an appearance on Radio 2.
