Reeves: 'Osbourne was a terrible cow'

Vic Reeves has blasted Sharon Osbourne for the way she treated him when she hosted the 2008 Brit Awards.

Osbourne launched into a foul-mouthed rant when Reeves stumbled over his words as he presented the best British album gong at the ceremony.

Viewers saw the X Factor star telling Reeves to "p*ss off you p*ssed b**tard" before announcing the winner herself.

The comedian has now told The Edinburgh Journal that he appeared confused on stage because organisers gave him conflicting information about which award he would be handing out.

He continued: "Then they said, 'You're not doing the other award now, you're going to do best album. What you've got to say will be on an autocue there'. So I got out there, and there was no autocue. I didn't know what I was doing."

After insisting that he was sober at the time, Reeves added: "I thought [Sharon] was a terrible cow, but that's what I thought before I met her anyway."

Osbourne's behaviour at the event sparked a number of complaints to Ofcom, but the media regulator later ruled that the broadcasting code had not been broken.
