Hatcher 'denies swine flu reports'

Teri Hatcher has denied reports that she has fallen ill with swine flu.

The Desperate Housewives star was rumoured to have contracted the H1N1 virus but her representative clarified that she had merely been diagnosed with laryngitis, TV Guide reports.

"Teri does not have swine flu, nor did she at any time suspect that she did. She is sick and has laryngitis," her spokesman Brad Cafarelli said.

The 44-year-old's illness will not disrupt filming of her role as Susan Mayer on the hit ABC series and her representative added: "[She] has already finished her work for the week and is not scheduled to work again until next week."

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported on Thursday that an estimated 5.7 million Americans were infected with swine flu from mid-April through July 23.
