Green Day 'bemoan Obama Nobel win'

Green Day have said that US President Barack Obama does not deserve the Nobel Peace Prize.

The American Idiot rockers admitted that they cannot understand why the head of state had been awarded the prestigious prize after only nine months in office.

Contactmusic quotes singer Billie Joe Armstrong as saying: "He's got a lot of work to do. I mean, he's got a huge job, you know.

"Winning the Nobel Peace Prize - they might have been premature on that, you know, you've got to create a little bit more peace before you get something like that."

Green Day are currently on a world tour in support of their latest album 21st Century Breakdown.
