Gosselin: 'I am not a fame seeker'

Jon Gosselin has again apologised for his recent behaviour, insisting that he is "not a fame seeker".

The Jon & Kate Plus 8 star spoke out about his celebrity status during a public dialogue with Rabbi Shmuley Boteach at the West Side Jewish Centre in New York last night.

"I think I'm just misunderstood. I'm not a fame seeker. Every day I look in the mirror and I wonder [why I'm famous]," People quotes him as saying.

"I don't sing. I don't dance. I'm not a Nobel Peace Prize winner. I just had eight kids and I had a show on TLC."

The 32-year-old went on to discuss his recent behaviour, saying: "Half the stuff I've done, if I look at my moral compass, I shouldn't have done. I know that but I did it anyway. It's like fame cancelled out conviction."

Gosselin also dismissed reports that he had split from girlfriend Hailey Glassman, insisting that the pair were just "slowing down" their relationship until he had finalised his divorce from estranged wife Kate.
