Ian Brown arrested for 'assault on wife'

Former Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting his wife.

According to The Daily Telegraph, police were called to the couple's home in West Kensington, London on Monday morning after neighbours reported a disturbance.

When they arrived, Mexican Fabiola Quiroz alleged that her 46-year-old husband had attacked her. Brown was arrested and taken to a police station, where he was bailed until December.

A Scotland Yard spokesperson said: "A 37-year-old woman made an allegation of domestic assault and a 46-year-old man was arrested at the address and taken to a police station."

Brown and Quiroz wed in 1999 and have son Emilio, 9. The Manchester-born singer has previously spent four months in jail for threatening behaviour towards British Airways workers.
