The 'Don't Look Back In Anger' singer moved to the capital following the release of the band's number one debut album Definitely Maybe in 1994.
Speaking about the move, he told the Evening Standard: "I'm leaving London to go back up north, to Manchester. I've been advised to do a Rod Stewart, as in a tax exile, but I don't want to do it. But London has lost its spark."
Gallagher parted ways with Oasis earlier this year, blaming his deteriorating relationship with younger brother and singer Liam for the break-up.
