Lauren Laverne to write teenage books

The former Kenickie star's books will centre on a 15-year-old female who dreams of becoming a rock star, playing Glastonbury and finding her estranged father. The series has been described as "rock chick lit".
"When I was a kid, all I ever wanted to be was an author," Laverne told the BBC. "To be writing a book of my own is absolutely wonderful and, like most things worth doing, occasionally terrifying."
Ann-Janine Murtagh, from publisher HarperCollins, said: "[Laverne has] created a new heroine who is endearing and funny with a wonderfully original and authentic voice."
Earlier this week, it was confirmed that the Culture Show host will take over from George Lamb on the BBC 6 Music weekday 10am show.
