Jonathan Ross has spent £20,000 on a self-portrait of rock icon and personal hero David Bowie.
The BBC presenter apparently treated himself to the art after winning a Music Industry Trusts (MITs) award for his services to new artists.
Radio 2's Paul Gambaccini read Ross a message from David Bowie at the ceremony, which mocked the DJ's music career.
"I love both your records," it said. "And if I play them at the same time, your Ws sound like Rs."
According to PA, Bowie's artwork is from a series of five, which were produced for his 1995 LP Outside.
