Kate Hudson cuts booze to shed pounds

Kate Hudson has reportedly lost 20 pounds by giving up alcohol.

The 30-year-old actress slimmed down for her role as a terminally ill woman in forthcoming movie Earthbound.

Hudson admitted in an Elle interview that cutting out drink completely had not been easy.

"I love my glass of wine. I love tequila. To be in New York for two weeks and not have one beverage, I'm not sure I've ever done that," she said.

The star earlier dismissed rumours that she has become engaged to baseball player Alex Rodriguez.
