In the early '90s, Kriss Akabusi was a shining beacon among the grimy showbiz celeb circuit. The Olympic 400m hurdler found fame after helping the UK take Gold at the 1991 Tokyo World Championships, going on to become a TV presenter (Record Breakers, The Big Breakfast) and regular on panel shows Through the Keyhole and You Bet!. Akabusi's manic enthusiasm for life, lunatic-esque "Alwigght!" catchphrase and gargantuan laugh endeared him to the nation. At the height of his fame he was even caught up in an infamous showbiz rumour about his voracious sexual appetite, which we must add, he has since strongly denied.
In recent years, Akabusi has found TV work harder to come by, focusing instead on sharing his famous Positive Mental Attitude (PMA) with his own unique brand of motivational speaking. He's returned to screens occasionally with a bizarre cameo as a milkman on Last of the Summer Wine and a guest spot on Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, but generally he's preferred to remain out of the spotlight.
