Alex Reid: 'I have to deal with haters'

Alex Reid has admitted that his relationship with Katie Price has caused him to fear for his safety at cage fighting events.

The 34-year-old told the Daily Star that his romance has angered rival fighters and enthusiasts of the sport.

Reid explained: "Take my last fight. There were a lot of haters I had to deal with. As I left the cage, several people tried to throw punches at me and even break into my dressing room. If it wasn't for my own guys being with me, who knows what would have happened?"

He continued: "For now, I'm keeping myself to myself and concentrating on my training. To all my critics who want to slag me off, it just fires me up to train harder.

"A lot of people are saying I'm bringing the UK mixed martial arts scene into disrepute. But what I do outside the fight scene is my own business. The last few months have been a crazy rollercoaster."

Reid started dating Price in July following the star's split from Peter Andre.
