Fans of late TV personality Don Lane are expected to gather at South Sydney Junior Rugby League Club today to celebrate his life.
As many as 1,000 people will honour the memory of Lane, who died last month from a dementia-related illness, aged 75.
The memorial is believed to be featuring a live performance by Lane's son PJ.
Although tickets to the service are free, the Lane family requested that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association of NSW.
At the time of his death, his co-host and friend Bert Newton said of the award-winning star: "All I can say is that I can't think of anyone who I liked more in the industry, anyone I enjoyed working with, more than Don Lane."
