Lady Sovereign 'joins ladies football team'

Lady Sovereign has signed for a London football team.

The rapper, who was once offered a trial to play with Arsenal Ladies, has joined Leyton Ladies.

Speaking about her new role, Sovereign admitted that her teammates did not recognise her when she enrolled in the side.

"I don't think at first they really realised, like, what the hell would Lady Sovereign be doing playing for Leyton?" she told Four Four Two magazine.

However, the 'So Human' star added that her sporting pursuit will not affect her music career, saying: "Music comes first so I can't play all the games. The football people understand."
